While the hotel has seen changes and upgrades over the years, they have always been carried out through the lens of maintaining and highlighting what makes it so special in the first place.

The Nebo Hotel has survived for 160 years as a pillar of the community thanks to the hard work and dedication of local families.
To this day, it’s still a Nebo family run business, making it the home away from home it is for so many.
Our wonderful owners are proud to be serving their community they love so much and helping others experience its beauty too.
Ben and Kristen took over the beloved Nebo Hotel in 2017 from Ben’s mother. She lovingly ran the pub for decades so she could support her family and her community, values they have taken forward with them in their approach to running the hotel.
Both Queensland natives, Ben’s family are fifth generation Nebo cattle farmers, connecting their roots deeply to the area and its past.
With their three children, the whole family has now become actively involved in strengthening and bringing even more colour to Nebo’s already vibrant community.
They have been involved in many community initiatives from securing a constant supply of clean drinking water for the local school, to working with the Board of Mackay Isaac Tourism to put Nebo on the map.
Ben and Kristen are committed to honouring the heritage of the pub, while helping it grow and evolve to continue serving its community to the fullest.
